Eagle River Restoration, Town of Minturn, Colorado

Completed Restoration Efforts Restoration construction on the Eagle River Riparian habitat creation

ERC was contracted to by the Town of Minturn to restore the natural function of Eagle River and riparian corridor impacted from historic land use practices and the Eagle Mine.

Project Highlights:

  • Master plan included water rights, minimum in-stream flows and recreational uses
  • Re-established appropriate width-depth ratio for current flow condition
  • Riffle, pool and glide sequences characteristic of the natural channel type were created to provide quality and variety aquatic habitat
  • Over 2-acres of riparian habitat development and 90,000 native riparian plants installed
  • Storm water runoff vaults installed
  • Coordinated project presentations with the public and assisted in securing project funding
  • Obtained all permits and approvals
  • Completed 5-year monitoring and maintenance program
